Custom Shopify Storefront for Pre-Launch Natural Coffee Syrup Brand
Project Brief
Motif is a premium, clean-label coffee syrup brand preparing for launch. They needed a Shopify storefront that felt elevated and design-forward (not “template-y”), while staying fast, scalable, and easy to manage post-launch. The site also needed to support key ecommerce functionality and connect to email marketing for pre-launch capture and launch comms.
Creative Challenge
Create a distinctive, world-building ecommerce experience for a new CPG brand without sacrificing performance or maintainability. The site needed to communicate quality quickly, convert on mobile, and stay flexible for future product expansion beyond syrups.
Approach
- Built a custom storefront on Shopify’s Horizon theme, layering in branded sections and interactions to achieve a bespoke feel without heavy custom code.
- Structured core shopping flows across homepage, product pages, and collection pages with a mobile-first lens.
- Added education + storytelling touchpoints (including recipe/blog components) to support discovery and conversion.
- Implemented Klaviyo-connected email capture to support pre-launch growth and lifecycle messaging.
Results
A polished, conversion-focused Shopify storefront that matches Motif’s elevated brand world and is built to scale. The launch response was strong: Motif sold out their full launch stock within 10 days and converted approximately 40% of their email list into paying customers.
